DJI Dock 4 — DJI’s First Dock With Battery Swapping
DJI Dock 4 is the new generation of DJI’s drone-in-a-box platform and the first DJI dock that swaps batteries instead of waiting for a charge. A fully automatic swap takes 25 seconds, so the DJI Matrice 5TD is back in the air in under 45 seconds for urgent calls or continuous 24/7 coverage. The Matrice 5TD combines a 50 MP wide camera, 11× telephoto, 1280×1024 thermal camera, laser rangefinder, rotating LiDAR and mmWave radar, with onboard AI that detects 17 object types. The DJI O4 Ground Station (included) handles video transmission, RTK and network access, and DJI FlightHub 2 runs the whole operation from the cloud or on-premises. Supplied in the UAE by GulfNet Emirates with installation, FlightHub 2 onboarding and local after-sales support.
Meet DJI Dock 4: DJI’s First Dock With Battery Swapping
Ready in Seconds for Rapid Response
25-Second Battery Swap, 24/7 Operations
The dock stores up to three Matrice 5TD batteries and swaps one fully automatically in 25 seconds. The previous flight’s data transfers over high-speed Wi-Fi (up to 80 MB/s) during the swap, and the drone takes off again in under 45 seconds — no 30-minute recharge gap. Two parallel channels charge spare batteries from 15% to 95% in 27 minutes, and the dock auto-preheats batteries in the cold and air-conditions the cabin in the heat, from -40°C to 50°C.
Instant Launch, 21 m/s to the Scene
Once a task is issued, the cover opens and the drone launches with no pilot on site — nights, weekends and holidays included. It flies directly to the scene at up to 21 m/s, arrives ahead of ground crews and streams live video with about 160 ms drone-to-cloud latency, around 43% lower than the previous generation. Any two aircraft in a project can relay automatically, one flying while the other stands by.
O4 Ground Station — Deploy Beside High-Rises
The included DJI O4 Ground Station (IP67) carries the O4 Enterprise Enhanced video link, RTK positioning, Ethernet and 4G access, and can be installed up to 80 m from the dock, for example on a rooftop. Together with the Matrice 5TD’s LiDAR and visual SLAM, anti-interference and anti-spoofing algorithms, Dock 4 can be deployed next to high-rise buildings or along substation walls. Multi-station roaming lets the drone hand over between several ground stations with no coverage gaps, and a vehicle-mounted option is planned for 2027.
Matrice 5TD — One Drone for Day, Night and Survey
11× Telephoto, Thermal Camera and Full-Colour Night Vision
Three 50 MP cameras (wide, medium tele and 252 mm-equivalent tele) read signs 400 m away and spot bolt-level defects at 100 m. The 1280×1024 thermal camera (2560×2048 in UHR mode) records in 2K with 32× zoom and fuses with the visible feed in one frame. Full-colour 4K night vision works without a spotlight, and the 3 km laser rangefinder overlays range and PinPoint coordinates on the live view. Mapping accuracy reaches 10 cm at 12 MP, so inspection, security and survey run from one airframe.
Wire-Level Obstacle Sensing, Even at Night
A 360° rotating LiDAR (110 m range), three-directional mmWave radar and six low-light fisheye vision sensors work together to detect obstacles as thin as 11 mm wires — inside substations full of live equipment or around crossing distribution lines, under city lights at night. Built-in ADS-B and Remote ID receivers warn of nearby aircraft and drones, and High-Wind Descent RTH brings the drone home safely when gusts reach 12 m/s.
450 g Payload — Speaker, Spotlight and Parachute Together
Two side PSDK mounts and a top mount carry up to 450 g at the same time, so one flight can provide voice guidance (AS2D speaker, 120.5 dB), lighting (AL2D spotlight, 40 W) and ground safety (AP1 parachute, EU C5/C6 compliant). A built-in customisable warning light needs no extra installation, and three E-Port interfaces accept third-party payloads such as gas detectors.
Three Mounting Positions, 59-Minute Flights
The Matrice 5TD flies up to 59 minutes, hovers 55 minutes and operates within a 10 km radius at up to 12 m/s wind, with IP55 protection and anti-ice propellers for -40°C to 50°C. The Matrice 5TD Accessory Mount adds the three payload positions shown here, and the aircraft keeps the operational capabilities of both the Matrice 4TD and Matrice 4D.

AI-Powered Workflow With DJI FlightHub 2
Onboard AI Detection and FlightHub 2 Copilot
The Matrice 5TD detects 17 object types in real time on the live feed, plus infrared hotspots, and supports third-party AI models. In the Virtual Cockpit you can search almost any object by text or image through a multimodal LLM. When an anomaly is found, FlightHub 2 sends SMS, email or platform alerts and triggers snapshots, recording, tracking or hovering automatically. FlightHub 2 Copilot turns plain-language instructions into routes, scheduled tasks and drone commands, and Change Detection Pro compares new imagery with historical photos or 3D models and exports an annotated report in minutes.
Secure and Compliant
DJI Dock 4 supports compliant operations with a DJI-designed parachute, custom flight zones enforced by the flight controller, and airspace awareness from Remote ID, ADS-B (AirSense) and third-party airspace data. Data is encrypted end to end: TLS 1.2+ and AES-256 between drone and dock, HTTPS/WSS/TLS from dock to cloud, AES-256-CBC at rest, full access logging, and deletion at account, organisation or device level. FlightHub 2 is available as public-cloud SaaS, an all-in-one appliance or an On-Premises Version, with OpenAPI, FlightHub Sync and the DJI Cloud API for integration into existing VMS, SCADA or GIS platforms.
