DJI Matrice 5TD — Dock-Based Thermal Drone for 24/7 Operations
The DJI Matrice 5TD is the aircraft built for DJI Dock 4. It carries three 50 MP cameras, a native 1280×1024 thermal camera and a 3 km laser rangefinder, flies up to 59 minutes and recognises 17 target types on board. LiDAR, 3D infrared and mmWave radar let it sense thin wires day and night. With Dock 4’s 25-second battery swap, one Matrice 5TD covers a site around the clock for public safety, security, inspection and mapping. Supplied in the UAE by GulfNet Emirates with setup, DJI FlightHub 2 onboarding and local support.
DJI Dock 4 Explained: Everything You Need To Know
Triple 50 MP Cameras and 1280 Thermal
11× Telephoto, Up to 176× Hybrid Zoom
A 50 MP wide camera (1/0.98″), a 50 MP 3× medium telephoto and a 50 MP 252 mm telephoto cover every distance from one gimbal.
Read signs at about 400 m and spot small power-line defects at 100 m — up to 176× hybrid zoom.
Native 1280×1024 Thermal Camera
Four times the pixels of the previous generation, with 32× thermal zoom and a 2560×2048 Super Resolution mode. Fusion view overlays thermal on the visible image.
Find hot spots, fire fronts, overheating parts and people in smoke or darkness.
Full-Colour Night Vision and 3 km Laser Rangefinder
The RYYB telephoto sensor gives full-colour night video, and a near-infrared illuminator adds covert black-and-white night vision.
The laser rangefinder measures up to 3,000 m and overlays distance and coordinates on the live feed.
Smarter and Safer Flight
Onboard AI — 17 Target Types
Up from three on the last generation: people, vehicles by type and colour, smoke and fire, boats, livestock, forklifts, excavators, bicycles, motorcycles and floating debris.
Alerts reach DJI FlightHub 2 in real time, so operators see what matters without watching every frame.
Wire-Level Obstacle Sensing, Even at Night
Six full-colour vision sensors, a rotating LiDAR, 3D infrared and three-direction mmWave radar work together around the aircraft.
Detects wires down to 11 mm, so automated missions fly close to power lines and towers with confidence.
450 g Payload — Up to Three Accessories
Fit the AL2D Spotlight (11 lux at 100 m), the AS2D Speaker (120 dB at 1 m) and the AP1 Parachute at the same time, or add third-party PSDK payloads.
Light a scene, talk to people on the ground and fly over crowds more safely — on one aircraft.

Built for BVLOS and Compliance
An independent Flight Termination System, the AP1 parachute, Remote ID broadcast and detection of nearby DJI drones support beyond-visual-line-of-sight approvals.
Aligned with EU C5/C6 and UK5/UK6 classes when fitted with the parachute.

59-Minute Flights in Wind, Rain and Cold
Flies up to 59 minutes (about 48 minutes in real operations) and 53 km, at up to 21 m/s. IP55, anti-icing propellers, 12 m/s wind resistance and -40°C to 50°C.
Two built-in 4G slots keep the link alive across operators on long missions.

Made for DJI Dock 4
Back in the Air in Under 45 Seconds
The Matrice 5TD flies from DJI Dock 4, which swaps its battery automatically in 25 seconds and stores up to three batteries. The cover opens, the drone launches and reaches the scene at up to 21 m/s — no pilot on site.
Missions, live video and AI alerts are managed in DJI FlightHub 2, in the cloud or on-premises.

Application Scenarios
- Public safety and Dock as First Responder
- Site security and perimeter patrol, day and night
- Power lines, substations, pipelines and telecom towers
- Wildfire watch and emergency response
- Ports, industrial plants and construction sites
- Repeat mapping — about 10 cm accuracy at 120 m without GCPs
